FT 8K

The TSL FT8K Thermoformer provides a high volume solution to the producton of PP or PET containers that require ttight trim tolerances and high tonnages. When combined with an optional High Speed Retrieval System (HSRS)using a carbon fiber paddle to retrieve the formed parts and transfer to stacking station the FT8K System becomes a high volume producer with reduced labor costs and price competitive products for the marketplace.

Doubler Plates

Servo Plug Drives

Heat Tunnel and Chain Rail

  • Energy efficient quartz panel heaters
  • Easy to clean aluminum pan-faced heaters
  • Up to 170 degrees opening for ease of access to all heaters and safe clearing of sagging plastic

Tilt Technology

  • Synchronized dual servo toggle driven design which provides a rugged, high speed forming platform for a reliable and repeatable thermoforming process
  • The platen rotates 80 degrees, proud of the frame, allowing for ease of product ejection into automation or into an in-mold labeling system (IML)
  • With a platen move time of 1 second the FT4K can achieve speeds of up to 40 cpm with non-IML automation

FTP Technology

  • Form and Trim in place, using a Low Flex 5.0 forming station for the production of HIPS (High) impact Polystyrene) plates, bowls, and trays etc.
  • Cycle speeds of up to 40 CPM with cut-place trim accuracies
  • Labor saving counting and stacking feature

The TSL machine control is a user friendly, state of the art system that incorporates non­-proprietary hardware and machine specific software developed by TSL.

Main Screen

  • Standard industrial PC, 19“ LCD touch panels
  • Log of all machine events and faults
  • Recipe management and storage
  • Machine diagnostics
  • Includes extensive configurable user security, password levels and online operations manual and help.
  • Not responsible for any actual machine control as a result, one of its major advantages is that the machine can start and run without the PC in case of any issues.

Platen Motion

  • The HMI is available in multiple languages
  • An Opto22 PAC system manages all of the machine’s generic I/O
  • A Galil DMC-40x0 controller coordinates the motion control for all of the servomotors. This system synchronizes all the machine cycle timing.

  • Machine data for data acquisition systems, can be provided via OPC.
  • By request TSL can remotely connect to the control system to troubleshoot, modify, or add new features, via a secured internet connection.

Heat Tunnel

  • The oven temperature control via the Opto22 PAC system provides each zone its own PIO loop control.
  • The heater zone configuration is color coded for ease of use .
  • An overlay of the mold layout can be superimposed on the oven graphic so that the operator can tailor the oven's heat profile for each recipe and save this recipe for the given product.
