LR5 Vertical Trim Press

LR 5 Vertical Trim Press

The TSL LR vertical presses are engineered with strength and precision in mind. Starting with massive, stress relieved frames and continuing with a 65mm/45mm linear rail and linear bearing system that provides the load carrying ability and precise platen location required in the trimming and punching heavy gauge plastics. The linear rail provides a cleaner running press by the use of grease lubrication as opposed to oil, critical for the food service packaging industry.

The LR VTS is ideal for low count products as the pre-counted stacks are evacuated from the trim tool via an vertical elevator then push onto a conveyor for delivery to a packer or automation system. This system reduces labor for retail count packages.

The LR Vertical Pre-Punch is designed to punch vent holes in the bases and/or side walls of ventilated containers such as berry baskets. It can also be used as a scouring press for tamper evident containers for fresh food applications.

The servo sheet index with independent servo motors for each wheel is available on both the entrance and exit of the platen to give consistent and positive control of the sheet during the trimming process. Both presses offer quick change features inclusive of the optional, side load trim tool cart.

The TSL Machine Control on the forming press also controls the pre-punch and/or trim presses. The presses can also have their own independent or "stand alone" control if required.

The TSL machine control is a user friendly, state of the art system that incorporates non-proprietary hardware and machine specific software developed by TSL.

  • Standard industrial PC, 19“ LCD touch panels
  • Log of all machine events and faults
  • Recipe management and storage
  • Machine diagnostics
  • Includes extensive configurable user security, password levels and online operations manual and help.
  • The HMI is available in multiple languages

  • Not responsible for any actual machine control as a result, one of its major advantages is that the machine can start and run without the PC in case of any issues.
  • An Opto22 PAC system manages all of the machine’s generic I/O
  • Machine data for data acquisition systems, can be provided via OPC.

  • A Galil DMC-40x0 controller coordinates the motion control for all of the servomotors. This system synchronizes all the machine cycle timing.
  • By request TSL can remotely connect to the control system to troubleshoot, modify, or add new features, via a secured internet connection.
